OUR PRICE!!! Way, way under $25 a bottle, coming from a single lieu-dit that stands along the border of the revered vines of the one and only Château-Figeac…this is an absolute MARVEL! The warm, rich clays, sitting atop a monolithic sub-stratum of pure limestone…it is utterly CLASSIC Right Bank Bordeaux — loaded with earthy spice, plump dark berry fruits, and sweetly juicy plums, dark chocolate, graphite, and tart little bursts of sour cherries…WOWZA! I popped this bottle first thing Monday morning, was blown away…but then sagely hid it under my desk for the night…and guess who’s ROCKING now??? Simply amazing levels of polish, but bright and vibrant acidity, and no shortage of structure either. One of the best QUALITY to PRICE wines I’ve tasted from Bordeaux in a while — you could easily slip this into a line-up of $75-$100 Bordeauxs, and I assure you — this little beauty will win, place, or show like a prized filly in a stakes race!
