The Goldridge loam soils here, and that coastal fog and cooling breeze of the Pacific make this Pinot Noir Shangri-la – it’s almost unimaginable to contemplate that it spent most of the 20th century as an apple orchard! Today, 13 different clones of Pinot Noir reign supreme, and the wines from this site are revered for their intoxicating perfume, surreal complexity, and mouth-watering acidity. This 2022 lives up to all that and a bag of chips – with an incense-like waft of white flowers, and black tea, with vanilla bean, and baking spice all begging me to sip greedily and deep.
