Take…a…bow, Alma Rosa! One great Chardonnay, three great Pinot Noirs – all gone in record time! We ain’t done yet though, so let’s keep things ROLLING!
Rancho La Viña! It may not be the most creative name for a vineyard – but you have to understand – these folks don’t exactly have a lot of spare time to work on the marketing plan. Not only do they grow some world-class grapes (prized by SAMsARA, Testarossa, Summerland, and more) but they are also the westernmost vineyard in the Santa Rita Hills AVA, growing organic produce and organic walnuts, all on a ranch that has thrived in the region for over 200+ years!
The vineyard is farmed organically, and the fruit profile is utterly classic S.R.H. – awash with juicy red fruits, like baked strawberries, cranberries, pomegranates, and sweet red cherries. The tannins are grippy and structured, and that tomato leaf character adds another depth of green complexity. This is pure, and crystalline Pinot Noir sexiness – and seems to just now be opening up and starting to strut!
