Reynvaan Vineyards Bordeaux Blend The Classic Walla Walla Valley 2018
Walla Walla Bing BANG! OVER 60% OFF! 97 POINTS! The good people of Reynvaan have done it AGAIN! Cabernet sauvignon, and franc, and petit verdot and merlotā¦that Jeb Dunnuck called one ārock star of a wineā ā at a price you canāt find ANYWHERE else!
Game on, broham! This is one epic Bordeaux blend, and as any of you that were fast enough to snag the syrah we featured a couple weeks back know ā Reynvaan is one of Washington Stateās tippy-top best producers! Matt Reynvaan took on the winemaker role in 2010, learning the craft and making wine hand in hand for YEARS with the one and only Christophe Baron, you know ā the GODFATHER of Walla Walla and creator of the iconic CAYUSE (of the uncountable 100 pt. scores). Christophe last consulted in 2017 ā after 12 years working alongside Matt ā but as this vineyard called āIn The Rocks" stands adjacent to Baronās own āEn Cerise Vineyardā...you can only imagine a little healthy competition among neighbors, that continues to this day!Ā And Iāll tell you what ā pound for pound, dollar for dollar ā these Reynvaan wines stand toe-to-toe with the best Cayuse wines I've ever had...and that's saying something!
I mean, CāMON! This price?! This will absolutely SMOKE a truckload of $100++ Cali-reds and Bordeauxs ā and clocking in at just under 14% abv, this perfectly straddles the balance of ripe fruits, uplifting energy, and brightness, with that gorgeous kiss of toasty oak. CrĆØme de cassis, and lilacs, with this inky, purple-y fruit character of plums, and boysenberries, some brandied cherries, with this exotic tropical flourish of passionfruit. Hints of chocolate, with rose petals, and bay laurel, too, plus this lingering smooch of cherry bitters, and a soupƧon of Tahitian vanillaā¦just EPIC yāall! We donāt have enoughā¦at least of this particular wine (hint, hint.) 97 POINTS! 60+% OFF! Go, go, GOOOO!
** More Reynvaan to come? Possibly. Stay tuned, friends! **
